"The Blue Light"

I found my light the bottom of a well
The bottom of a great deep well
Late one night she hit me with a spell
And down into the earth I fell

I lit my pipe, sure that I would die
Sure it was the end of me
When out flew a spirit so blue
Who said he could set me free

And he said,
"My blue light's for anyone in need,
Anyone in need at all
I will fight until you are free
Until you stand free and tall!"

Then I found a passageway out
Out into the great wide world
And I saw the face of fear
Upon all the boys and girls

So I throw my fingers in my coat
And wrap my hands around my light
I'm a soldier if you didn't
And baby I was born to fight!

And I said,
"My blue light's for anyone in need,
Anyone in need at all
I will fight until you are free
Until you stand free and tall
Take this light when you are afraid
Anyone who lost it all
Black or white, don't matter who you are
Together we will go far!"
